If you are not aware Fiona, fourteenthstar (https://www.deviantart.com/fourteenthstar), was the Director of Community Operations here on dA. She was in charge of not only Comm Ops but Seniority and Deviousness as well. Her dedication to this community while on staff was astronomically epic. In my time I have seen many staff come and go but with Fiona it feels somewhat different. I think no I know, she was not only a pillar of this community but a support beam of unimaginable strength.
I strongly encourage you to go to her page and thank her for all that she has done in her time on staff; even if you've never had any interaction with her.

This journal is a follow-up to the announcement of the Emote Awards 2013 winners. If you have not read those yet, and you don't want me to spoil it for you... go away and read it. It's linked up there. And now here.
If you're sure that you're ready for this...
One last chance...
This was one I knew I was in the short-list for (a fact I would, and have, had issues with). I am incredibly flattered, and do not know what you lot want from me. Most of my issues with the awards stem from my lack of self-esteem, and complete belief in all those in the community who are so much better than me with their delicious talent.
I want to let y'all know

Communities rely on Pillars made of Heart by spyed, journal
Communities rely on Pillars made of Heart
Communities of all kinds are held up by pillars made of heart. Typically embodied by people who let the weight of their community rest on their shoulders, willing to let life be life. Sometimes it hurts, and sometimes it's comfortable. Regardless, the result is a halo that surrounds all participants in a community. The healing light of being mothered, fathered or cared for.
These are very special people who take this role in your community. Maybe this person is you. In which case, please be you today, and every day. Because you are very important.
For the rest of us, we all know who the pillars are that hold up the communities that we care
